This film about the epic story of the last Neanderthals required the most out of time and original scenery that the Bulgarian landscape could offer. For several weeks the shooting locations were in the country: in Lukovit and in Belogradchik, where different sites such as caves, caverns, marshes etc., still have their primitive nature. In addition, Sofilm ensured the manufacturing and the construction of many decoration elements and props such as mammoth skeletons, prehistoric tipis, accessories, as well as the entire wardrobe.
Some sequences with settlements of Homo sapiens have been shot in the wild part of a small forest, situated in the very heart of the city of Sofia.
